A visit to The annual Spring Bulb Show at the Mt. Holyoke and Smith College is a wonderful way to fend off the winter blahs. Each year, the first week of March, gorgeous displays of a variety of bulbs greet the visitors as they walk through the various greenhouses.
But don't limit your visits to the Spring Bulb Show for Smith College is worth 
the trek to Northampton to tour through their Botanical Gardens in the summer, as well. There are at least eight gardens with different themes (Japenese, Rock, Herb, Systemic and Perrenial for example). Take a virtual tour through these by visiting the Smith College web site.
While your in the area, be sure to stop by and visit the Botanic Gardens at Mt. Holyoke College. Of course, their are those wonderful restaurants, too! What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
